Asia Divers is El Galleon’s dive center, overlooking the lovely beach of Small Lalaguna, which is the quieter area of Sabang. Asia Divers was the Philippines first PADI Career Development Center (CDC) and has a team of very experienced instructors and divemasters guiding guests on world-class dive sites which are all only a short boat ride away.In business now for 28 years they are known for a high standard of teaching across all PADI courses, from Bubblemakers for kids to Divemaster and Instructor level courses. Many of the Divemasters and Instructors working in the area were trained by Asia Divers.

The Philippines is home to the most biologically diverse waters on Earth and the Verde Island Passage – the narrow body of water separating Luzon and Mindoro islands – is a biodiversity hotspot!

Just recently The California Academy of Sciences conducted an expedition in our area “The 2015 Verde Island Passage Marine Biodiversity Expedition: Puerto Galera. The expedition, the CAS said in a statement, affirms that the Philippines is the “center of the center” of marine biodiversity. “The Philippines is jam-packed with diverse and threatened species – it’s one of the most astounding regions of biodiversity on Earth,” says Terry Gosliner, PhD, senior curator of Invertebrate Zoology at the CAS and a Principal Investigator of the expedition.

Safety is a must for all its dives, so Asia Divers includes detailed briefings and safety-first procedures. All visitors must produce a logbook and certification card before diving. Local bangka boats carry up to six people and a guide on each trip. Asia Divers also operates two speedboats, making a day trip to Verde Island simple and quick. Asia Diver’s technical arm, Tech Asia, is the best training facility in Asia for technical diving.

The dive facility is just a few years old and there is nothing like it in Asia. There is a diving platform with a large pontoon on which boats can easily dock on making it simple for guests to board and disembark. Every diver has their own crate in the dive shop to store their gear, and there is a dedicated camera room with a computer available and rinse tank specifically for cameras. It’s very spacious so even when the shop is busy you never feel crowded. The calm, relaxed atmosphere lets you know that you’re being well looked after by the crew who are always there to help you with anything you may need.

Asia Divers and El Galleon are much like an extended family and have developed long-term friendships with many people over the years. Guests come from all over the world to enjoy the diving and many of them returning regularly. Customers frequently want to discover diving in other parts of the world too, but want to do it with people they are comfortable and friendly with. So Asia Divers host several live-aboard trips to many worldwide destinations every year. It publishes a weekly newsletter which keeps everyone informed of trips coming up over the next year or so.

I dove with this operation while staying at El Galleon Beach Hotel. They are very professional and took us to great dive sites. The crew and divemasters were awesome. We were offered 4 dives every day. Safety is a priority. Highly recommended.

Used Asia Divers during a stay at El Galleon Resort. They are very professional and dedicated to giving divers a wonderful and unique experience. Your gear is handled for you as a true concierge diving service. We were offered 4 dives per day and night diving as well. Overall, an excellent experience with Asia Divers.

I go almost every year to dive with Asia Divers because of the instructor/guides and the team they have assembled there. Especially Allison, Jamie and Pete. I use Alli and Jamie as my private guides because I am an underwater photographer and want to know where particular subjects are and more importantly, they watch over me while I’m focused on my work. Sometimes I have to admit, I am too focused on the shot and other divers will be around not paying attention to me either and many times Alli or Jamie will step in and prevent other divers from hitting me on the head with their fins or body or ensuring I am watching my deco time and air.

I cannot tell how professional and comfortable these individuals make me feel in the water. They bend over backwards to make sure my experience is perfect within their control. In addition, the support team will also help with all your gear and take care of you like family. They are now like my extended family. Lol. Thanks Asia Divers.

It is more that 20 years since I first visited Puerto Galera and dived with Asia Divers. In those days it was a sleepy little fishing village visited by a small number of divers who were in the know. The diving was amazing and after a few years the government discovered what a jewel they had and declared the entire area a Marine Reserve.

The reason for the diving being so amazing is simple enough, it is a current called the Verde Island Passage, that begins in the mid Pacific and drifts South Westerly bringing oxygen rich water and nutrients.

Year by year as more and more divers discover the amazing marine life and dive sites here the numbers increase. That, of itself is not surprising because there are more varieties of fish species here than in the entire Red Sea and a larger variety of corals than in the Great Barrier Reef.

So as the resort has grown so has Asia Divers. As a PADI 5 star operation they have a purpose built pier for divers which includes a very large locker room for storing clothes. Cylinders are filled are filled on the pier and wet suits etc. are all available here so divers basically change, grab their gear and climb into a boat.

Asia divers do the entire range of PADI courses from the children’s Bubblemaker for children as young as eight to experience our sport, through to training to PADI Instructor level.

The instructors at Asia Divers are a skillful and happy group and the hotel associated with Asia Divers, El Galleon is a high quality resort.
