Tufi Resort is a place that makes the outside world and all its daily stress seem a million miles away. The Resort is perched on an amazing, cliff-top terrace overlooking Tufi Harbour.
Located in Oro Province and only 129 kilometres (80 miles) east of Kokoda, Tufi Resort is the perfect place to rest the weary body after the challenges of the Kokoda or Black Cat Trail.
The deluxe bungalows have polished timber floors and the walls are lined with traditional woven material. All the creature comforts are available, including insect screens, 24 hour electricity, air-conditioning, hot water, bedroom with en suite, bar fridge, coffee and tea making facilities. Most bungalows have verandas overlooking the Coral Sea or Tufi fjord.
It has breath-taking 180º panoramic views of the sea, fjords and mountains.

The resort was very accommodating. Rooms were nice and run cool AC all with views. The diving was decent. Our dive guides were doing all they could to point out marine life and assisting with our gear, tanks, and camera equipment.
The boat rides out to dive sites were a bit bumpy so take some nausea meds if you’re prone to motion sickness.
The resort also has kayaks and sailboats available to take out during down time, which was a great pastime when we weren’t too exhausted from extensive dives.
Overall 3.5 stars.

Just got back from taking a group to TUFI resort in PNG, and my group all said that they had a great time. The resort is situated up on a hill above their dive operation which at one time during WWIII was a US PT Boat base. It is surrounded by many local villages that help support the resort.
The rooms were great, all with views and all have AC. Some of the rooms have canopy beds for couples and range from Single to up three to a room. Your bags are taken immediately to your rooms from the near-by airport and you are greeted with a welcome cocktail and a cold cloth which helps after a long trip.
I suggest to take the Land Rover down to the dive shop each day of diving, it’s quite a trek down to the shop. They operate 2 boats and plan for another one set up just for divers. They also offer day fishing and tours for snorkeler and non-divers. Their dive sites are about 20 to 30 minutes out and offer a variety of different dives. you can see Hammerhead Sharks, Bumphead Parrot fish, schools of a variety of other fish and rich coral life.
They offer a few days trips to the local villages to see the tribal dances and how they survive in such a far away place! The locals came in several nights to sing and entertain the guest. If going to PNG, I suggest TUFI resort as your resort of choice.
